And again I blog...

Welcome to all who care to check this site out, still.  I have had full intention of sitting down to blog every now and again, but alas, life has interrupted this plan.  So much has happened that I'll try and give you all a quick skimming overview of the last 3 weekends.

The weekend of Oct 7 was Thankgiving (Canadian) weekend.  Thanksgiving is actually on a Monday here, because well... that's the way they do it here.  So, on both Saturday and Sunday I had Thankgiving gatherings.  One at UBC and one at SFU.  Below is a pic (thanks Suzanne) of our group at SFU.  It was a mix of the church group and the English Corner group.

After the Thanksgiving meals, though, it was down to business for me.  The following weekend was The Main Event for the year... for the life of the church... or churches.  See, Oct 13-15 was a huge student conference that we hosted, in addition to the launch of the new church that I'm helping to start at UBC on Oct 14.  Catalyst went well, from most accounts, and included 180+ participants from BC and the Pacific NW of the US.  Below is a pic of Steve Saccone and the back of a lot of heads.

This conference was pretty crazy for me, along with my partners in crime... err.. ministry.  To be quite honest, I may still be recovering from my lack of sleep leading up to and during the conference.  Here's what I looked like on the ride home.

During the weekend, we launched our new church.  We took a group of 35 or so from the conference, added them to the number that will come regularly, and we had slightly over 40 people at the launch.  Honestly, though, the "true launch" was really felt yesterday (Sat) as there was a group more typical of what our gatherings will be.  Here's the church...

Right now, I need to get off.  I have to pull my sheets out of the dryer to put them on my bed.  I'm tired and I have a fair amount to do this week in preparation for my trip to TN.  So, for all of you in TN, I'll be there in less than a week.  If you want to get in touch with me, I'll have my old US cell phone (same #), so feel free to give me a call.

There's my update.  I'm falling asleep trying to finish typing it, so I'd better go.  Until next time...

Sweet!  I can't wait to see you, and get the in-person version of all that's been going on!  And, dude, get some shut eye, you're lookin' kind of rough in that pic.  I'm going out of town next week, to ATL, so I guess I'll just see ya at CBC on 11/5.  Laters!

I just want to use my close relationship with you and this website to tell you that --

YOU ARE A LOSER!

You get me addicted to blogging and then don't update for MONTHS. Get to work, boy! I have a new spagetti recipe I might try out on you guys when you come home for Christmas. We'll see.

Yes, I agree.

Lady Em, The Hottie and I were talking about that very subject this weekend. You remember how we do a fancy dinner together in lieu of a big celebration? That is what we are leaning towards. I am outta here Dec 22 and will be back on the 27.  I know you are coming in on the 18th, not sure about "with a Y", so pop us an e-mail and we can make the plan.  I have already suggested the Butcher's Block for our fancy dinner but if that is morally reprehensible or whatever, just let us know.

Take care until I see you, buddy.
